How Bilingualism/Quebec Move Culture Left

Interesting video by J.J. McCullough about his two most controversial articles. One points out official bilingualism means that the 17% of Canadians who are bilingual hold all of the top spots in government institutions. As these are mostly left wingers from Quebec it has the net effect of moving Canadian culture to the left of its overall population.  Pointing this out is considered very controversial which is why you never hear this truth spoken.

Bilingualism as requirement for top Canadian government jobs must be abolished if our culture is ever to reflect Canadians as a whole.

Coyne: Lack of consequences over Trudeau’s ethics breach makes mockery of rule of law

On December 20, the outgoing federal Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner (to give her her full title), Mary Dawson, delivered a report finding the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, in violation of sections 5, 11, 12 and 21 of the federal Conflict of Interest Act, in the matter of his acceptance of free vacations on the Aga Khan’s private island in the Bahamas.

The Federal Government Is Corrupt – Spencer Fernando

When the PM can break ethics rules with no consequence and the elites use foreign tax havens while the rest of us are massively taxed, it becomes obvious that the government has been corrupted. For almost all Canadians, we face clear consequences when we violate federal rules.

Size and Scope of Government in Canada Exponentially Expanded – Michelle Rempel

In a good article on political leadership by MP Michelle Rempel in Macleans, she hits upon one of the big reasons why our culture has moved to the left.

First, the size and scope of government in Canada exponentially expanded around the time of the world wars. Since then, for better and worse, government has grown to touch virtually every aspect of a Canadian’s life.

My generation has grown up in a system in which government is so ubiquitous that many of us rarely think to question the role of government. We’ve developed a tendency to default to accepting the existence of the state across every area of our lives, and to look to the state as the solution to most public-policy issues.

This has led to a widening gulf between the size of the government and our individual ability and desire to scrutinize every aspect of it, and in turn, to scrutinize the people who we entrust with leading it.

When the government is automatically presumed to be responsible for every problem,  its easier to be a victim than to take responsibility for ones own condition. Finding positive ways to reduce the size and scope of government is critical creating a more conservative culture.

Don’t expect celebrities to be political saviours – Macleans.ca

This week, the prospect of an Oprah Winfrey presidential candidacy sparked a discussion about whether or not celebrities are automatically qualified to lead a government, on the basis of their celebrity alone. Praise the heavens. This dialogue is sorely needed, and not just in the United States. It affects us here too.

About Conservative Community

If politics is downstream from culture as many believe then as culture moves left so will every political party.

Most major cultural institution has moved to the left in the last 50 years. Movies, TV, music, universities, public schools, news media, the judiciary, most religions, and even big business are now bastions of left wing orthodoxy. Small business people and the nuclear family are amongst the few institutions that have remained true to their conservative values although both are facing severe challenges.

As conservative minded people it’s no longer enough do our jobs, raise our families, pay our taxes and support our local Conservative Party candidates. While we are doing this the left is actively working to move our institutions even further left. As older conservatives pass on where will the new conservatives come from if almost every institution is about left wing political indoctrination?

Its time for Conservatives to take back our culture by nudging institutions to the right and creating new ones where possible. The first step is being aware of what is happening around us and the second step is taking action / making choices that help us reclaim our communities.

This site will

  1. Post examples of leftism in our institutions
  2. Post solutions we can use to fight back
  3. Assemble resources to aide in our battle.

It’s called “Conservative Community” because it will take all of us contributing our ideas, discoveries and solutions if we are to make any difference. Where liberals believe in messiahs to lead them to the promised land, conservatives know it is our ideas and principles that matter.

Fake But Accurate – Michael Wolff Version

One lesson from Michael Wolff’s accuracy challenged book “Fire and Fury” is  how the media uses demonstratively false material to further their preferred left wing narrative.

The dubious reputation of the author or the many falsehoods in the book are ignored if it can used to promote the left’s “Fake But Accurate” notion of the subject covered.
